Complaint Details
I am doctor working as additional professor,Govt medical college thiruvananthapuram kerala.
I bought a sony bravia tv model name KDL-40EX520 IN5 serial no 2479341.

It was working properly till 9th month from the date of purchase,After that a band appeared on the top of the screen (4cm width through out the screen size).I informed the shop and service person came and asked to take TV to service centre .Since I was out of station and due to many personal mishaps(and since the band not increasing in size) I could not take the TV to service centre.

On 15th of this month the band widened and reached almost to the middle of the screen and seen as double image . I took TV to service center registered there job no J53013431 .After two days they informed me over phone that the pannel is not available,there and I have to pay Rs21000 to buy that pannel.

I was surprised by that it is better to buy a new TV than repairing it with Rs21000 .
For a leading brand like sony I never expect this much of damage from a costly product .The other equally competent brands are giving a warranty of 3 years or than that for costly product
I feel very bad that this happened from a leading brand and a costly latest product like LED bravia TV.

I came to know that the authorised service center Madonna is planning to close the center or going to wind up soon.That is why they are demanding a high repair fee from customers.
I hope a reasonable and favourable action from your side for this request.
