Hello,
I had my flight from Lucknow to Delhi at 10.55 a.m on 19th January and a connecting flight from Delhi to Pune at 12.45pm. The connecting flight option was given to me from the portal I booked the tickets and not individually. For my 10.55 flight, at 10.45 we were asked to board the flight saying that we will leave my 11.15a.m. Soon after we boarded the flight, we received the announcement that because of some issue we are not able to depart and shall depart as soon as we get the clearance.
We were made to sit in the flight for 1 hour without any further information from the flight attendants. If there was such a long delay expected, we could have been asked to unboard the flight. Above that, flight attendants should have atleast served us water /juice/some snacks withoit even asking to make the delay comfortable at least. On asking flight attendants, they still did not know how much more time it would take. I did inform them about my connecting flight and they told me all flights are delayed and someone will be there to attend me on arrival at delhi so I should not worry.
After 1.30 we departed. When serving food they did not have enough veg food which was surprising as we had prebooking. We were served a unpacked refrigerated cold bun with paneer gravy on a tissue paper saying they got it from business class. The quality and the way it was served , any new flier could also say it did not even belong to lower economy class. We definitely we did not eat that and gave it back.
On landing at 2.30 on delhi airport, there were few people asking for Ahmedabad fliers but no one for Pune flier. I asked the attendant and he told me all flights are delayed and go to gate 50 for my flight which was printed on my boarding pass. I went there only to know my flight for Pune flew on time. Attendant on gate 50 simply told me to go to gate 37 which was very far from gate 50. On reaching there and explaining the situation, attendant told me that they will give me flight for 5.20p.m and on explaining food situation they said they will give food coupon. After that I was made to completely exit the security checks with an attendant and go to the main check in area at Delhi airport which was just on complete opposite direction. Lady attendant explained the supervisor everything and left for home. Again after waiting for 20 mins, when I approached the supervisor who was supposedly handling my case, she asked am I waiting for the checkin. To my surprise, she didn't even start processing my request.
Anyways she started the process and gave me a new boarding pass wit food outlet name written. I confirmed if the food outlet name would be sufficient and when I show they will serve food. They said Yes. So with boarding pass, I was again made to do the security check with a long queue which took half an hour. After reaching food outlet And on displaying the boarding pass, they said they don't have any information and they cant serve food without confirmation. They tried to call the jetairways representative for 15 20 mins but couldn't reach them. Even I tried to reach them but there was no response. This wasted another half an hour and I had no time left to buy my own food and eat before my next flight at 5.20 p.m. When I asked jetairways supervisor to sign my boarding pass that they did not serve food because of communication gap from Jetairways, they refused.
I was damn frustrated on the whole situation and I was very disappointed with the unpreofessional service from Jet airways. Above that all supervisor was just apologetic but did not do anything to make the transition and the delay comfortable. I understand there can be delays, but company like Jet airways should have been active enough to know which passengers are travelling with connecting flight and provide a smooth transition and minimum hassles to the passenger. I had a meeting at 3.20 p.m in pune which was missed. I was suppose to reach Pune at 2.30 and I reached pune at 8 in the evening. The whole day went pathetic and it was just aggregated by the Jet airways supervisors.
Not a single Jet airways supervisors was professional and tried to ensure customer is satisfied and is comfortable. I now wish to be compensated for my whole day loss and the hassles faced.
I am marking copy to consumer forum. Hoping some action will be taken against this.
