I bought this TV considering I didn't see a lot of negative reviews online, I'm guessing now that its probably because people are so happy that its cheap that they are probably ignoring the niggles. Its been 6 months with this tv and here is how things stand. 1) There were black patches on the screen that were progressively getting worse after I bought the TV, my mistake for not noticing them in the beginning but they've become quite an eyesore over the past few months and you would only notice them against light backgrounds. 2) I raised a service request via email on Nov 21 3) 2 weeks hence no service engineer so i email again, the engineer comes to my house ( really nice guy btw) and he confirms what i have be expecting, its a panel fault and requires replacement 4) Vu has no stock!!!! its the 4th of Jan now and I still haven't got a replacement TV, according to the service engineer they did send a new tv on the 17th of Dec from the HO but thats a 48 inch HD dumb TV, which he refused on my behalf as its a down grade, guess he didnt want me yelling at him instead. 5) I understand that the product is no longer available as Vu have moved on to other models, but you cant leave customers in the lurch since you phased out a model. 6) I called the customer service centre today and to be honest its very disappointing, they have no idea what they shipped, theres no IVR so the call gets disconnected if no one picks up and they said they will call me back once they talk to the guys in bangalore but that hasnt happened yet 7) All in all Im stuck with a damaged prduct under warranty that hasnt been resolved though its close to 2 months now and this is the state of affairs in a city like bangalore so god help those who buy these anywhere else 8) Further updates: Vu tells me I have to pay 5000 more to get the 50 inch 4K tv since they have no stock of this model ( expected when it's no longer in production) or take the 48 inch hd model and wait for a 48 inch 4K model (which will never happen coz it's out production) 9) to add insult to injury even if I go for the 50 inch model my warranty just continues from the time I raised the complaint and the price diff actually between what I paid for this tv and the 50 inch they are selling on flipkart is just 2000 oh and they just deleted my posts on their Facebook and Twitter pages. Further updates: after numerous calls on my behalf by the amazingly customer focused team at Flipkart I was finally offered a replacement TV by Vu which would be shipped to me from Kolkata within Jan 31st, I got the call from Nilesh ( not sure of his designation but the customer service reps refer to him as Nileshji so Im guessing he's someone important) , anyway Flipkart closes the case promising that i can always re-open the case with them to take it up with the Brand in case of any further issues, unfortunately the Brand is at it again. I called the customer care centre and ask them about when my replacement is supposed to come and they have no idea something of the sort has even traspired, they tell me the old story of how they sent the 48inch full hd and they dont have stock again ( whatever happened to the tv from Kolkata?), I have to tell them to contact Nilesh and then suddenly the story changes to the Tv will come in the first week of Feb ( was supposed to arrive FOR SURE within Jan 31st) since there was some problem with the documentation ( apparently they messed up the form 16 but i cant believe them and you and I both know what form 16 refers to) . I tired calling Nilesh myself but wonder of wonders he never picks up so i dont believe the Feb 1st week delivery date since there is no TV replacement coming my way, at this point Im not even convinced this is a TV company but rather a bunch of Con artists out to trick people. Can I get a replacement that has some guarantee that it will work or better still can i just get a refund as I dont really want to deal with such a company
