Complaint Details
I Usha, have taken a policy in Aviva Insurance Coy vide policy No ALA 3117816 dt 12 Oct 2012. I paid all premiums regularly and the premium mode is half yearly. My last premium was due on 15 Nov 2015 and the premium was paid on 15 Dec 2015 alongwith fine of Rs 6312/-. On 12 Jun 2016, I want to pay for my premium with branch office coimbatore, the cashier told me that your policy has been lapsed. I asked him to give me the details, once he gave the details, my premium was paid upto 13 May 2015. I shocked and shown the receipt paid by me on 15 Dec 2015 for Nov 2015 premium. He told me that your policy lapsed due to premium amount is short and our head office returned the cheque for Rs 6312/- on 14 Jan 2016 and the same has not delivered. After six months period, they not to communicate the details so far and not returned the cheque amount till date. My complaint is once a person is taken a policy for his protection due to any unexpected occurrence happen. If they not contact my address during the last six months, in future any thing happen to me what is the assurance between them and me the sum assured to be paid to my nominee. Now my question is pl instruct the insurance company to refund the premium paid so far i.e Rs 35, 736 and last premium of Rs 6312/-to me at the earliest. Otherwise I will suit against them in civil court. An early action is requested.
