Complaint Details
I was going to Singapore for 5 days, and planned to take Airtel smart pack of 2499 INR for Singapore, which had enough free calls, and 3G data.
It was 22nd Jnue 2016, I booked it through Airtel booth on Delhi International Airport. The guy did all the formalities on my wife's mobile, and said it is done. There is no action required at my end.
On reaching Singapore, I used its data for around 20 minutes. And within few hours, I got an SMS on same number that I have an unbilled usage of 22000 INR. I was totally shocked to see this, and it was a complete mood spoiler on the very first day of my Singapore Holiday Trip.
Note: my trip duration was only 5 days. 1st day waste due to this.
I stopped the sim completely. And, I immediately sent an email to airtel (from hotel wifi) regarding this that I have booked smart pack.
After about an hour after I sent them the email, I got an SMS that some 999 INR pack has been activated on my mobile. This was again a surprize, as this is not the plan I took.
I got reply the next day in evening. They told me that you have 999 INR plan, which has zero around 30 MB free data only, and you used 34 MB of data. You are liable to pay the bill at end of month.
In the end, I could not use my SIM for complete trip. A complete waste of the smart pack I booked.
Completely frustrated by all this, I decided to fight for this, and asked them to revert complete bill of international usage. As, it was a complete harrassment from their side. I took the plan to use in Singapore, but I could not even use it. And, they gave me mental shock of 22000 INR, which is a huge amount for mobile bill.
So, this mail communication is going with them from last 20 days. And, they are not agreeing to this.
To my benefit, I was travelling to USA on 11 July, and I got a chance to meet the same Airtel booth guy at Delhi international airport. This time, I took complete video of our conversation. And, he looked into his register for that day. And, it has a clear entry of my number for that actual smart pack of Singapore. I proved my point.
I shared these pictures to airtel, to which they are still not agreeing.
This is a complete cheating from airtel. I again demand for complete revocation of charges because:
1. I booked it for my benefit for those 5 days, and could not use it because of their 22000 INR message
2. Due to their mistake or that guy mistake, the smart pack was not activated on my mobile. There is no fault of mine.
3. Airtel harassed me mentally on my holiday trip, which was not a my mistake.
